Charizard ex Deck – Aggro Celestial Guardians
Let’s talk fire. I’ve been running the most aggressive Charizard build in Celestial Guardians, and when the combo hits, it’s basically game over. The core is A2b-010—that’s your Charizard ex with 180 HP and Steam Artillery hitting for 150 every turn. The secret weapon? A3-144 (Rare Candy), which lets you skip the Stage 1 evolution entirely. Find it early, and you’re swinging for massive damage on turn two.
Two versions of this deck dominate right now: the all-in solo Charizard build with only two Basics, and the two-attacker variant that adds A3-033 (Incineroar) for backup pressure. The solo build is faster and more explosive—you live or die by the early combo. The two-attacker version trades a bit of speed for consistency, giving you a second win condition and more breathing room when you miss the Rare Candy.
Playing the Aggro Game
Turn one is all about evolution. If you open with A2b-008 (Shining Revelry Charmander), your priority is finding A3-144 and A2b-010. Stoke gives you three Energy instantly, so you can fire off Steam Artillery on your next attack. If you don’t have the combo yet, evolve to A2b-009 first, then use A2b-069 (a search card) to dig for your Charizard. When both starters are available, always lead with Charmander—you run two Charizard and only one Incineroar, so it’s the safer bet.
Midgame is about pressure. Keep one attacker active while setting up the next on the bench. Use healing like A3-155 and A2-147 to survive critical turns. Burn damage from Incineroar’s Fire Fang is clutch against Oricorio, which can’t be damaged by EX Pokémon. And don’t forget A3-151—that’s your tool removal for Giant Cape, which is the main way opponents survive 150 damage. A well-timed Sabrina (A1-225) secures knockout.
Two Build Variants
In the solo Charizard build, you run only two Basics: two copies of Charmander. No backup attacker—just pure speed. You need Rare Candy early or you lose. I pack two Potions (PROMO-001) to keep Charmander alive while setting up. Only one Poké Ball since you only need to find your second Charmander.
In the two-attacker build, you add one A3-030 (Litten) and one A3-033 (Incineroar). This gives you a secondary plan if Charizard doesn’t come online. You also run two Charmander and two Charmeleon for consistency. More Basics mean you can afford to lose two while setting up the third. It’s slower but much more forgiving.
Tech Cards and Adjustments
The remaining techs follow a pattern: A2-155 for disruption, PROMO-005 for draw, and A1-225 for clutch plays. Skip Red if you’re one-shotting everything. If you want status healing, swap in A2b-070. For hand disruption, PROMO-006 is niche but worth testing.
Whether you go all-in on speed or add a safety net, this deck punishes slow starts and rewards aggressive play. Hit that Rare Candy, and watch the opponent scramble.
