Every once in a great while, the lacro se- Julius Erving Jersey style goal also known as "The Michigan" shows up somewhere in the hockey world. It is difficult to pull off succe sfully and if it fails, theres probably some embarra sment and an angry coach on the way back to the bench.The goal first came to prominence when Mike Legg of the University of Michigan scored by lifting the puck onto his stick blade from behind the net and guiding it into the top corner, leaving the goalie baffled. That goal, which was scored in an NCAA tournament game, actually will be turning 20 years old this month. Here's a refresher.It has been accomplished a few times since, but it was most recently executed to perfection in the Ru sian MHL, the division just below the KHL. MHK Spartak Moscow's Alexei Tkachuk was given a little too much space behind the net and caught the goaltender leaning the wrong way.
