In the end he raised more than $12,000 for the fund that helps support injured veterans and their families.For Brown it's a bit closer to home as his wife's cousin, Christopher Bordoni, was critically injured and eventually succomed to injuries sustained in Afghanistan. , he immediately thought of how he could help."The whole community rallied around the Bordoni family at that time," Brown said. "When we talked about doing a public event, the first thing me and my wife thought -- we always do a lot of charity stuff -- we had Semper Fi right at the top of the list. It was a good fit." Talk about a rewarding day. Sharing the holy grail of hockey with the people in your hometown and raising a lot of money to help out our wounded heroes.
