U4GM MLB 26: How to Unlock Free Jacob deGrom
Diamond Dynasty players have a pretty simple reason to log back in this week: a free 95 overall Milestone Jacob deGrom. You don't need to drain your MLB 26 Stubs balance to get him, either. The card is tied to the new Extreme Showdown, which means it's all about beating the moments, handling the mini-bosses, and surviving the last fight against deGrom himself. It's not a giveaway in the lazy sense. You'll probably fail a run or two if your timing is off. Still, it's repeatable, so there's no real penalty beyond a bit of frustration and another try.
Why This deGrom Card Matters
This Milestone version celebrates deGrom joining the 100 Win Club, and the card feels useful right away. He brings strong H/9 numbers, solid strikeout ratings, 92 control, 97 clutch, and 100 stamina. That stamina matters more than people sometimes admit, especially in longer Ranked games where your bullpen can get cooked fast. His pitch mix is also nasty: four-seam fastball, slider, circle change, slurve, and sinker. The slider is the pitch most players will notice first, because the break is sharp and it plays well off the fastball. If you can tunnel the sinker and slider properly, hitters won't get comfortable.
The Quirks Give Him Extra Bite
Stats are only part of the story with deGrom. His quirks make the card feel more dangerous than the rating screen suggests. Homebody and Day Player are nice in the right spots, but Stopper, Outlier, and Break Outlier are the ones people will care about most. Outlier on a starter is still a big deal this year, since not every top arm has it. You'll be able to challenge hitters upstairs with serious velocity, then pull the string with the change or bend a breaking ball away. That kind of mix is exactly why this card could show up a lot in Ranked Seasons.
Lou Gehrig Day Adds More to Grind
The update isn't just about deGrom. There's also a Lou Gehrig Day Conquest map, and it's worth clearing if you're trying to build your binder without spending much. The map has several Yankees strongholds and gives out useful rewards like the Lou Gehrig Day bat skin, Show packs, Headliner packs, Deluxe packs, Jumbo Show packs, and 4,000 XP. As usual with Conquest, hidden rewards are probably tucked around the map too. On top of that, Lou Gehrig has a limited-time supercharged boost to 99 overall, so anyone who already owns him gets a short window to use a monster bat in the middle of the lineup.
Market Moves and Collection Planning
The new Andy Pettitte Headliner is another piece to watch. He's a lefty with strong stamina, good control, a cutter, sinker, circle change, curveball, and four-seamer, so he fits well if you like mixing speeds instead of just throwing gas. At the same time, plenty of players are already thinking about the next Legends and Flashbacks Collection. Cards tied to Ketel Marte, Mickey Mantle, Jose Ramirez, and Jolt Series rewards could become important soon. If you're grinding smart, free content like deGrom and the Gehrig Conquest can save resources, while players using MLB The Show Stubs may want to target missing collection pieces before prices jump.
