The incident occurred with 1:27 left in the contest. Pietrangelo was a se sed a five-minute major for slashing and a game misconduct. McDavid said after Game 4 said that he would like to see the Vegas defenseman suspended as a result of the slash, and he got his wish. "You would like to see it reviewed for sure. I'd like to see it suspended," McDavid . "It was as intent to injure as you can get. That was not a hockey play." Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft would not come out and say Pietrangelo should be disciplined, but agreed with his captain's a se sment of the incident. "If you're asking my opinion on that play, I would not define it as a hockey play," Woodcroft said. "And I'll leave it at that." Pietrangelo was not the only player to be suspended as a result of Game 4. Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse also was hit with an automatic that stemmed from an instigator penalty he received in the final minute of the game.
