MMOexp ARC Raiders: Is the Cellar Worth Opening
The Raider's Refuge cellar isn't the most lucrative loot spot on Blue Gate, especially when compared to higher-risk areas. However, it's still absolutely worth opening under the right circumstances. If you're in the area uncontested, low on supplies, or simply looking to maximize your run, the cellar provides a solid reward for ARC Raiders Coins the time invested.
Additionally, learning how to complete this puzzle efficiently gives you an advantage in future matches. Once you're familiar with the spawn locations, you can clear the puzzle quickly and move on before drawing too much attention.
Final Tips
Take your time, scan vertically as well as horizontally, and remember that button placements can shift slightly between runs. The four lights above the cellar door are your best progress indicator, so check back periodically to confirm how many buttons you've already activated.
After cracking the Raider's Refuge cellar puzzle, be sure to explore more of Blue Gate's hidden mechanics. A large number of ARCR Coins can also be very helpful.
Quests in ARC Raiders often reward players for careful exploration, but now and then, one throws in a deliberately vague step. Unexpected Initiative is a perfect example. While most of the quest objectives are clearly described, one particular task-finding the "broken rooftop gardens" at Piazza Roma-can easily leave players wandering the map unsure of where to go next.
If you've accepted the quest and hit a wall, don't worry. This guide walks you through every step of Unexpected Initiative, explains exactly where to find the broken rooftop gardens, and highlights a few important mechanics you'll want to understand before heading into a raid.
Overview of the Unexpected Initiative Quest
Unexpected Initiative is a multi-step quest that takes place in the Buried City and nearby areas. The objective revolves around gathering gardening-related equipment and materials and delivering them back to Tian Wen at Speranza.
At a high level, the quest requires you to:
Collect a Water Pump from the broken rooftop gardens at Piazza Roma.
Retrieve Fertilizer from the rooftop of the Grandioso Apartments.
Turn both items in to Tian Wen to complete the quest.
While that sounds simple enough, the challenge lies in knowing where to look and understanding how the quest items work during a raid.
Finding the Broken Rooftop Gardens at Piazza Roma
The most confusing step for many players is locating the broken rooftop gardens. Piazza Roma is a large area with multiple buildings, rooftops, and green spaces, and the quest description doesn't narrow things down very much.
To find the correct location, head to the southwestern section of Piazza Roma. A useful landmark is the green space that splits the two southern buildings. From there, you'll want to focus on the southwesternmost structure in that area.
Climb your way up to the roof of this building. Once on top, head toward the southwestern corner of the rooftop. This is where you'll find the broken rooftop gardens, identifiable by a set of garden troughs and water pumps.
Collecting the Water Pump
On the rooftop, you'll see several water pumps near the garden area. Interact with the water pump closest to the stairs. This interaction will cause a Water Pump item to drop, which you can then pick up and add to your inventory.
This Water Pump is not a special quest-only item-it's a standard loot item you could find elsewhere in the game. However, picking it up here fulfills the quest requirement and ensures you're on track to complete Unexpected Initiative.
Once you've secured the Water Pump, it's time to head toward the next objective: the Grandioso Apartments.
Reaching the Grandioso Apartments
The Grandioso Apartments are located on the southwestern side of the Buried City, even farther southwest than Piazza Roma. When you arrive, you'll notice several apartment buildings grouped together.
Your destination is the southernmost building, which is clearly labeled B2 on the map. Make your way inside and climb up to the roof.
As always in ARC Raiders, stay alert while navigating rooftops. These elevated areas can expose you to enemies or other players, especially if you linger too long while searching for quest ARC Raiders Items.
Finding and Collecting Fertilizer
Once you're on the roof of building B2, keep an eye out for a small brown clay pot. This pot will have a yellow quest interaction marker hovering above it, making it easier to ARCR Coins identify once you're nearby.
